The Collaborate Club is a multimedia and songwriting project, designed to create a safe and creative space for young people to speak on the issues that matter most to them, explore the challenges they face and use their voices to make a positive difference within their community.
Launched in Schools in 2025, the project has already brought together young people from across Southend’s Schools and community groups; exploring topics through songwriting.
Alongside the projects youth steering group, this next phase will bring discussions of these topics and more, to life via the podcast programme. Participants will work with the team from Folded Wing to;

develop the podcasts structure through script work

learn technical skills in equipment set-up and sound production
-
learn hosting and interview techniques
-
help inform the content for the first episode!
Who is the workshop for?
The workshop is for anyone aged 13+ who is interested in exploring podcasting, broadcast media, radio, technical and/or audio visual skills.
This workshop is FREE to take part, thanks to support from Southend’s Community Investment Board. Spaces are limited and will be led by Folded Wing Exec Producer Ian Parkinson and Assistant Producer Jardel Williams.
