Team
Karen is passionate about music and radio, and about finding new ways to combine the two. That’s why she set up Folded Wing, and why it’s now recognised as one of the most innovative production companies around. She developed her production skills at BBC Radio 1, including seven years with Gilles Peterson’s legendary Worldwide show. She’s a respected club DJ and an authority on a wide range of cutting edge music.
Pete is the producer of the BBC Music Introducing show on Radio 1 with Gemma Bradley and BBC Introducing Dance with Jaguar. He is also the Executive Producer of Selector Radio. Pete joined the team after doing work experience with us in 2012. He previously worked in local BBC and commercial radio, and is a graduate of the BBC's Kick Off training scheme.
Pippa found her love for radio whilst studying at the University of East Anglia, where she also started up a cassette tape label and the first student-led festival there. At Folded Wing, she is the Assistant Producer for BBC Music Introducing with Gemma Bradley on Radio 1, BBC Introducing Dance with Jaguar, and Selector Radio with Jamz Supernova.
Matt got into radio through volunteering at a local community station where he then went on to study at Point Blank Music School. Upon completing his course, he was offered a place on the internship programme where he was then promoted to a Production Assistant, working across multiple projects at Folded Wing, predominantly on The Jazz Show with Jamie Cullum on BBC Radio 2.
Ian is one of the most experienced programme makers in UK radio, with more than three decades as a producer, presenter, editor and senior leader. He joined Folded Wing in 2007, is the Executive Producer for all our BBC shows, and oversees other key projects. He specialises in developing existing and new on-air talent.
Starting off his love for radio by working at Reprezent, Cassidy has worked his way up the broadcast ladder producing and presenting specialist radio shows. He has worked on student, community and national radio, as well as across the BBC Radio networks (Radio 1, Radio 1Xtra, Radio 2, 6Music & Asian Network). Cassidy started his relationship with Folded Wing through the SRA Selector, and is now currently the Producer of Selector Radio.
Damian started his production career in 1998 where he cut his teeth producing the Boy George show for Galaxy and worked his way up to become a BBC Radio 1 producer. Aside from radio and DJing, Damian spent some time as an Artist Manager whilst living in Ibiza. He is currently Executive Producer for the Introducing show with Gemma Bradley on BBC Radio 1.
Sian first got into radio through her student radio at Leeds and went on to hosting a series of Friday night shows and a weekly feature on Huw Stephens’ show on BBC Radio Cymru and covered the Chillest Show on Radio 1 as part of their New Voices. She joined Folded Wing as a Broadcasting Assistant and currently works across multiple projects.
Micky has more than 20 years of broadcast production experience, most of it at the BBC. He has worked with Folded Wing since 2010 and has recorded, filmed, edited and mixed some of our biggest projects. Micky's real talent lies beyond just the technical; he brings an essential creative input that can lift our production ideas off the page.
Sandie has a very special interest in Folded Wing’s continued success, as CEO Karen P’s Mum. She’s had many years experience in office management and book-keeping, including running the UK office for an international freight forwarding company. Her main interests are being Karen’s number one fan, and proudest Mum.

Each year, the Radio Academy’s “30 under 30” project seeks the brightest talent under 30 working in UK radio. Folded Wing’s CEO Karen Pearson is on the judging panel.
Sound Women aims to raise the profile of women working in audio, and provides advice, mentoring and networking opportunities. Folded Wing’s Karen Pearson is on the Sound Women board and helped select more than 200 inspirational women to be involved in the project.
