Ian Parkinson has joined the Folded Wing team as an executive producer. He has been in the business for the last thirty years and has unmatched experience in broadcasting and the media.
Ian reported for the BBC from Europe, East Africa, the United States and the former Soviet Union; worked on the Today programme and was an Editor on the launch team of Radio Five Live. Then in 1997, he joined BBC Radio 1 as a Managing Editor and remained there for ten years as a core member of the network, managing and developing its many and varied internationally famous talent. As if those credentials weren’t enough he was also responsible for devising, launching and leading the digital black music station BBC 1Xtra.
He studied strategy and change management at France’s INSEAD and the London Business school, as well as training as a Management Coach at the BBC and working with clients across the corporation.
Since leaving the BBC, Ian has worked as a coach, consultant and trainer in a wide variety of organizations across the commercial, public service and charity sectors and is also a director of the communications consultancy Think Again Media.
