Emma Warren is a music journalist and editor of global renown and we have been nurturing her as a Folded Wing presenter for some time. Emma hosts lectures at the Red Bull Music Academy and presents our show ‘Pick n Mix Live from the Red Bull Studio’ every Friday on NME Radio from 8-10pm. She also produced our two-part documentary ‘The Story of Tattoo’s, Piercings & Stretchers’ for BBC Radio 1’s Sunday Surgery.
Emma was a founding contributor to Jockey Slut Magazine and worked on staff at The Face for four years. She regularly contributes to The Observer Music Magazine, DJ and Groove Magazine in Germany and her work has appeared in The Guardian, The Independent, Q, Fader and Time Out. Confirmation – if it were needed - of Emma’s status as a music industry taste-maker can be found in the fact that she was a judge on the Mercury Prize panel between 1998 and 2002.
More recently, her first compilation, ‘Steppas Delight: Dubstep Present to Future’ was released on Soul Jazz Records in early 2008 whilst she currently works on LIVE Magazine, a youth-created quarterly based in Brixton.
