International Record Store Day, which took place on April 17th, was a veritable success this year. It is the one day that independently-owned record stores across the globe partner with local artists to highlight the continued importance of record stores in our various communities and cultures. With a deluge of releases linked with the event from The Beatles, The Flaming Lips, Metallica and Blur it ended up a high profile affair this year, with an obviously stoic support base, which is great news.

In our opinion what completed the package however, was the appearance of Karen P on BBC One Breakfast offering her invaluable advice and opinions to the early morning telly watchers on the benefits of buying vinyl.

If you weren’t up that early, lucky for you there’s another chance to watch it again below.
