Tony Allen took some time out from rehearsing for his phenomanel gig, at Karen P’s Broad Casting, to teach the Guardian’s Tim Jonze how to play drums.

As you may well know from our previous posts, the legendary drummer later performed an electric gig, collaborating with Hypnotic Bass Ensemble, Baaba Mal, Ty and others for Karen P’s curated night Broad Casting at Cargo, London.
