The Birth of ‘Folded Wing’

Folded Wing is the new name for the company formerly known as Karen P Productions.

Since it’s inception in 2006, Karen P Productions has grown from being a small one-woman company named after it’s founder, to a larger company based around a team of talented full-time staff and freelancers. The idea that we might need a new identity came to us at roughly the same time that we realised we couldn’t all fit in Karen’s kitchen at the same time. At this point Folded Wing was born and we began looking for our new home in Clerkenwell.

The name Folded Wing itself was inspired by the story ‘Jonathan Livingstone Seagull’, an inspirational fable by Richard Bach. Looking for a new technique to help him fly faster, Jonathan Livingstone Seagull folds his wing in imitation of the falcon. Having learned this technique all by himself, Jonathan returns to the flock and teaches them all how to fly higher and faster.

As a great believer in the sharing and spreading of her knowledge and passion, and as a keen nurturer of young talent, Karen felt that the Folded Wing concept was too apt to ignore. It is our hope that this new name will help us - and all of our associates – fly higher and faster in 2010 and beyond!
