You may have seen recently that Folded Wing were invited to attend the Southend Youth Summit Showcase on 30th July 2025 spearheaded by local MP Bayo Alaba, who also sits on the UK Culture, Media and Sports Committee.

Read more "Folded Wing had the pleasure of being asked to attend the Southend and Rochford Youth Summit Showcase on Wednesday 30th July, organised by Bayo Alaba, where we had the opportunity to share with young people and various youth organisations in the area the work that we do, as well as the potential upcoming training opportunities that we have. We began the afternoon by setting up our Folded Wing stall in the Belle Vue Baptist church amongst the excited hum of the other attendees, which was followed by insightful conversations where we each shared our work, our opportunities and our passions for supporting the future generation of talent, as well as the limitations that a lot of young people are currently facing. What quickly became apparent was the amount of young people working within these organisations, who had such a drive and passion for advocating for the young people in the area, striving to break down barriers and making positive change by facilitating the learning of new skills to get a foot in the door. We think it’s safe to say that the future of the young people in Southend and Rochford is in very caring and capable hands!"
