As the year draws to a close, we thought we'd take a last look back at some of 2017's best muscial offerings. Deciding on a top 5 has been a subject of fierce debate in the office but we've managed to whittle it down to 5 albums and 5 songs that defined 2017 for our team...

1. Bicep - Bicep
Founders of blog/party/label Feel My Bicep, this Irish duo released one of the biggest and best electronic albums of the year, and it's been an office stereo staple thanks to our dance music aficianado, producer Matt.
2. The War on Drugs - A Deeper Understanding
This is one of those albums that you want to listen to whilst driving up the Californian coast at sunset with the windows down. In the meantime we'll have to settle for the M1 - but this album isn't getting old any time soon.
3. Los Campesinos! - Sick Scenes
Self-described as "your ex-girlfriend's favourite band", Los Campesinos! are also a top choice of our Senior Producer Pete.
4. Lucy Rose - Something's Changing
As well as providing one of our favourite live sessions for The Selector this year, Lucy Rose released this beautiful album telling the story of her travels across South America. She even has her own blend of tea and sells jam at her gigs - a woman after our own hearts.
5. Loyle Carner - Yesterday's Gone
An undesputed favourite across the whole team, Loyle's debut - featuring old school samples, perceptive lyrics and a poem by his mum - has redefined UK hip hop.
Songs
1. Kasabian - You're In Love With A Psycho
A top choice with a romantic tale behind it... this was the track that producer Pete and his lovely wife Emily chose to play right after their first dance at their wedding.
2. Patrick Topping - Be Sharp Say Nowt
One of the biggest tunes of the year by one of Matt's favourite producers (and style icon...)
3. Rex Orange County - Loving Is Easy
Because we can't count the number of times we've all sung this in the office, out loud, very loudly. You're welcome everyone else that works in this building.
4. Lorde - Green Light
Two words: absolute banger. We also love the Chromeo disco remix!
5. Dave feat. Mo Stack - No Words
A tune so catchy you'll be singing it well into 2018.
Honorary Mention: Miley Cyrus - Malibu
This is an extra one for Pete - and to be fair, what a tune. We hope 2018 brings us many more Miley / Dolly Parton collabs.
