Eliza first linked up with Folded Wing when the Student Radio Association (SRA) offered ten pairs of trips to London for students to work with Folded Wing and the RBMA Radio team at the 2010 Red Bull Music Academy in London. Securing a place on one of these trips, Eliza gathered content from the Academy to play out on Newcastle Student Radio where she was Head of Music, a role which she did part time whilst studying for her degree in English Literature and Sociology at Newcastle University.
Prior to Folded Wing, Eliza completed internships at London’s Resonance FM, as well as New York’s WFMU and NYU stations, working for the latter on Tim Sweeney’s ‘Beats in Space’ show.
At Folded Wing, Eliza is Assistant Producer on the Jamie Cullum show for BBC Radio 2 and works on the Red Bull Music Academy Radio shows. She also produced the documentary ‘Gone Too Soon: The Story of Aaliyah’ for BBC 1Xtra.
Eliza combines her work in radio with a love of journalism – she has written and curated music for the Free Music Archive in New York, set up an Events magazine for Newcastle and contributed to London-based ‘Ribbed Magazine’.
