TED (Technology Entertainment and Design) is a non-profit organisation devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading. They host two annual conferences that bring together the world’s most fascinating thinkers and doers, who are challenged to give the talk of their lives (in 18 minutes).

TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience, with a combination of TEDTalks video and live speakers.

On 8th December 2010, Folded Wing and Fallon London hosted the first ever TEDx Women event in London, titled ‘TEDx Soho LDN - How Women Are Using Media To Change The World’.

The event featured a selection of speakers and live music performances from some of Britain’s most inspiring women, including Andrea Hartley from Skating Panda, Jess Search from the Channel 4 BRITDOC Foundation, Jude Kelly from the Southbank Centre, with music performances from Alice Russell and Lou Rhodes.

The night was a fantastic success, with some truly thought-provoking, inspirational talks, incredible musical performances, and a genuine cross-pollination of people from different backgrounds and cultures.
