We have worked closely with Red Bull UK in helping to generate press and interest around the Red Bull Music Academy for the last couple of years. One of the key elements to this campaign is to assist in generating promotion and interest around the application period in the UK. As part of the recruitment drive for 2008’s Red Bull Music Academy in Barcelona, Folded Wing designed, produced and promoted a series of audio and video podcasts based around the London Workshop Session - a one-day ‘mini-academy’ event that took place in Shoreditch. These podcasts were so successful that Red Bull UK commissioned a full series to run throughout 2009.
Hosted by music journalist, and Red Bull Music Academy team member Emma Warren, Wandering Feet takes a UK focussed look at new music, collaboration and emerging talent. Packed with features, interviews, live recordings and mini-masterclasses, each episode features music and chat from pioneers, innovators and newcomers alike, many of whom have been involved with the academy.
Folded Wing also carry out regular ‘platform promotion’ for Wandering Feet, ensuring the podcast and the brand are visible in vital locations, such as iTunes and podcast directories as well as within smaller communities; from respected music blogs like Fleamarket Funk and Matsuli to the myspace pages of the artists involved.
