World-renowned nightclub Fabric approached us to help them make a podcast series that would surprise, confound and inspire in equal measure. They wanted their podcasts to shine out in terms of production quality and content, and of course that’s what we specialise in at Folded Wing.
The Fabric Podcasts are sessions of music and words presented and compiled by a wide selection of musical luminaries; people who have dedicated their lives to creating and expressing the music Fabric love and admire. This roster includes some artists who perform at Fabric, some who may not have performed in any club, some mentors, some underrated champions of genres lost by time and trends, but purveyors of good music whatever that may be. Each host plays music that they love.
We produced a specially designed sound package for Fabric, which communicated the excitement of us about the project itself, and the aural legacy of Fabric the club. The project has so far seen us working with such luminaries as Andrew Weatherall, Howie B and Greg Wilson and each podcast takes us as producers and you as the listeners on its own unique journey. The podcast is a regular feature in the top ten of the iTunes ‘music’ podcast chart and was nominated for a 2008 BT Digital Music award.
