The UK’s largest online clothing retailer, ASOS.com came to Folded Wing when they wanted to start working with music and audio.
Our first assignment was to help them source and produce a limited edition DJ mix CD as part of their ‘untitled’ project. Following a ‘Rare and Limited’ theme, Folded Wing commissioned Jedi Knight Tom Middleton to produce a unique mix of extremely eclectic tracks that had been selected by California’s legendary Amoeba records. Produced in a limited edition run of 300 copies, they were given to guests attending a very special dinner party in which Tom provided the soundtrack in the form of a live DJ set.
Our second assignment has been to help ASOS set up a temporary CD concession within the menswear section of their incredibly successful online store. The shop was stocked with albums selected by 4 artists from 4 corners of the musical spectrum: Amp Fiddler, Max Tundra, Los Campesinos and ASOS favourite, Tom Middleton.
Each artist chose their four favourite albums of the moment – which were then stocked alongside their own most recent release. From electronica to radio themes, soul to broken beat and house through to spiky guitar pop – the ASOS CD concession allowed customers to discover something new by taking recommendations from some of the most vital artists of the moment.
