Lucy's choice
Björk - 'Vulnicura'
"From beginning to end the album is just an incredible piece of work - possibly Björk's most personal record to date, with lyrics about her own experience of heartbreak. The production is impeccable - from beautiful string instrumentation to Arca and the Haxan Cloak's dark beats. I felt incredibly privileged to watch her perform these songs at the Manchester International Festival this summer - has to be one of the best gigs of my life."
Matt's choice
The Maccabees - 'Marks To Prove It'
"I've loved following this band's progression - from a tiny venue in Birmingham to consecutive sold-out dates at Brixton Academy and too right as well! I haven't tired of this new record all year - epic, heart-wrenching guitar music. They just keep getting better and better... "
Pete's choice
Peace - 'Happy People'
"Goldierocks interviewed these guys at the beginning of the year for The Selector, one of the funniest interviews I've been involved with and the funniest band I've met. On top of that, this album is brilliant, just jam packed with catchy riffs and melodies, plus it came with the greatest track by track guide of ALL TIME!"
Sandie's choice
Adele - '25'
"I'm so glad she's back and quite rightly returning to her throne as the queen of pop!"
Jim's choice
Kamasi Washington - 'The Epic'
"When this album first arrived at Folded Wing HQ earlier in the year, I thought it was great but way too long, and could have done with some serious editing. But then I kept going back to it... and going back to it... and soon realised the 3 hour length was actually justified. I saw Kamasi and his amazing band play live at the Barbican recently, and although it was a bit noodley in parts, there were some amazing moments. Epic indeed."
Micky's choice
Leon Bridges - 'Coming Home'
"This album easily sounds like it was recorded in the 60's and as a lover of old-school recording techniques this album delivers gritty warmth and the sort of genuine performance that was only possible in the analogue age."
Ian's choice
Soak - 'Before We Forgot How To Dream'
"Derry/Londonderry is one of my favourite places in the world and I first came across Soak when I was working there a few years ago. Really pleased she's getting the recognition she deserves."
