Today is of course Hallowe'en, so for this week's blog we've chosen our favourite scaaarrrry music...
Read moreAfter careful consideration we've had a dig around and pulled out some of our favourite tunes of a ghoulish variety in order to inspire your playlists this Hallowe'en....
Jim's Choice:
Mica Levi's score for 'Under The Skin' "I watched Jonathan Glazer's brilliant 'Under The Skin' film recently, starring Scarlett Johansson as an alien seductress praying on unfortunate Scottish men. Mica Levi (of Micachu & The Shapes) did the score and it's deep! Very haunting and fits the dark, surreal feel of the film perfectly."Sandie's Choice:
Bobby Pickett - 'Monster Mash'
"I love this track - it's the perfect Hallowe'en party song and I love this video someone's made for it... so cute!"
Alex's Choice:Richie Phoe - 'Thriller'
"Richie Phoe’s reworking of creepy classic 'Thriller' is probably the scariest reggae track of all time. As a Hallowe'en treat the Brighton based producer gives away a set of free glow-in-the-dark fangs with every pressing. Fang-tastic!"
Lucy's Choice:
Patrick Wolf - 'The Libertine' "I went to see Patrick Wolf on 31st October in 2005, the year I moved to London for uni. I hadn't heard of him before but a friend had a spare ticket to his gig at the Scala so I tagged along and it was one of the best gigs I've ever been to. Patrick is quite an otherworldly character anyway and was wearing a very seasonally appropriate black cape; die hard fans had brought pumpkins and towards the end of the show Patrick collected them from the audience and lined them up on the stage before asking for the stage lights to be turned off and performing by a creepy orange glow for the rest of the show. Definitely my best ever Hallowe'en!"Matt's Choice:
Jamie T - 'Zombie'
"This song is a bit of an addiction of mine at the moment - a total ear-worm! Admittedly it's more old-skool indie anthem then haunting tune but the title and video certainly fit the Hallowe'en theme."
