An article in radio industry title Broadcast has revealed that Folded Wing won the second highest number of documentaries from BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra in the last round of commissioning. Nearly 80 documentaries were commissioned by BBC Radio 1 and its sister station 1Xtra, with Folded Wing winning a total of seven.
In the coming months, Folded Wing will have programmes across the two networks looking at how gangs are portrayed on film, a special on the influential Paris record label Ed Banger and a retrospective on the life of poet and musician Gil Scott-Heron.
