More exciting news for the Jamie Cullum show on BBC Radio 2!

Following our incredible Clint Eastwood two-part special, we have another very special two-part Jamie Cullum show coming up...

To mark the 90th birthday of Dave Brubeck, Jamie talks to the legendary jazz pianist in a unique interview recorded during this year’s Newport Jazz Festival.

Tuesday 30 November, 7-8pm In the first of our two part special, Jamie asks his hero all the questions he has always wanted answered including how he first became a musician, what was the first piece of music he ever wrote, and how his long-time musical partner, alto-saxophonist Paul Desmond came to join his band.

Tuesday 7 December, 7-8pm In the final part of Jamie’s interview, Brubeck relates the story of the making of his seminal recording Time Out and tells of the surprising reactions it first received. And they discuss the single from that album – Take Five – which, as Jamie says, became one of the most popular tunes in the jazz world.

In the 7 December show we will also be featuring a special Maida Vale session from the sons of Dave Brubeck, The Brubeck Brothers.

Another essential date for the jazz diary is Friday 3 December when Clint Eastwood's Arena documentary 'Dave Brubeck - In His Own Sweet Way' will be on BBC FOUR from 9.00-10.30pm.
