This week's show features a live session track hand-picked from the BBC archives. So far, Jamie has selected historic BBC session tracks by Duke Ellington, the John Surman Octet, Tubby Hayes and Oscar Peterson. This week he plays a performance by the Ted Heath Orchestra session recorded for the Jazz Club in 1970.

Meanwhile, continuing in the spirit of the World Cup, Jamie revisits previously unheard sections of his Abdullah Ibrahim interview and plays a tune by the legendary South African pianist and composer.

Also on this week's show... music from Count Basie & Tony Bennett, Chet Baker & Art Pepper, Georgie Fame, Vijay Iyer, Keith Jarrett & Charlie Haden, Half Seas Over, Charles Mingus, Joni Mitchell and Eddie Jefferson.

Heavyweight stuff!
