Mulatu and the Heliocentrics have struck again.

Not satisfied with a torrent of critical acclaim, a World Album of the Year award from the Sunday Times and a best album of 2009 accolade from Mojo magazine, the great man and his companions have now managed to bag themselves one of the highest British musical honors of all for their album ‘Inspiration Information Vol 3’. The ‘Album of the Year’ at the Gilles Peterson Worldwide Awards of course!

What with pipping dubstepper Martyn and hip hopper Mos Def to the post and the Worldwide Awards showcasing only pioneers and artistic leaders of their genres, winning this trophy is no mean feat. Though it was totally deserved of course.

I know were biased… but it really is true.
